Hippopotamus

Scientific Name: Hippopotamus amphibius
Location: Africa (south of the Sahara desert
Type: Mammal

During the day they spend most of their time sleeping submerged in water with only their ears, eyes and nostrils above the water. At night they come ashore to feed. Hippos can live up to around 41 years of age.
