Affenpinschers

The Affenpinscher is a toy breed. They are small, wiry-coated, with a hairy, snub-nosed round face and erect ears. The preferred color for an Affenpinscher is black.

Afghan Hounds

The Afghan Hound The Afghan Hound is a long, fine-haired, long-eared coursing dog which has been bred for centuries in Afghanistan. They come in various colors.

Airedale Terriers

The Airedale Terrier is a large terrier with a wiry coat which is tan colored with a black or grizzled saddle. They make excellent police and watch-dogs.

Alaskan Malamutes

The Alaskan Malamute is a powerful sled dog named after a native tribe called the Mahlemuts. It is a spitz breed of dog.

Alsatians (German Shepherd Dog)

German Shepherd dogs The Alsatian is a large dog with a wolf­like head and can be black, white, grey, or mixed. Originally they were called German shepherd-dogs. They are very intelligent and are excellent as guards and guide-dogs for the blind.

Anglo-Francais

The Anglo-Francais is a French hunting dog. They have a short and glossy coat - tricolor (white, black and orange), white and black or white and orange colored. These are pack dogs and therefore need the company of other dogs.

Australian Cattle Dogs

The Australian Cattle Dog was originally called a Queensland Heeler. It was bred in Australia for driving cattle over large distances.

Australian Kelpies

The Australian Kelpie is a hard working sheep-dog. It looks very much like a Smooth Collie.

Australian Silky Terrier

The Australian Silky Terrier is a happy little dog that is loyal and affectionate and is very good with children. This breed has evolved from a variety of British terriers that were brought to Australia by settlers.
